I am writing and writing aimlessly. For the first time I am not writing with publishing mindset. The publishing mindet is dangerous especially if you are in growing phase. By the way all writers are in growing phase almost all the time. For past four days when I sitdown to write I have no idea what to write. I just type the first word that best describes my current feelings and off you go. Does it really help?

Yes, because one purpose of writing is to communicate ideas. The other and more important one is to generate new ideas. We often forget how powerful tool writing can be for generating new ideas. Quoting Paul Graham here.
