Prime Minister Modi chaired the Union Cabinet that apprised of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between India and Palestine for cooperation in youth affairs and sports.

A PIB press release said that the MoU will help in promoting exchange of ideas, values and culture amongst all youth irrespective of their caste, religion and gender as well as development of sports in the two countries. In turn, it will help in consolidating friendly relations between the two countries.

It’s been claimed that Indian and Palestinian govt are at odds after PM Modi’s visit to Israel (the first ever by an Indian PM) where he hadn’t spoken on Israel’z the occupation of Palestine.

Recently, M.A. Abualhayjaa, the Palestinian ambassador to India urged the Indian government to help the country by persuading Israel to reverse its security crackdown at Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The mosque has seen multiple violent activities which let to six deaths after Israel decided to install metal detectors at the entrance to the Old City’s holy compound, as reported by The Wire.

The ambassador said, “With the relation between this government and Israel, I could say that they could interfere in the situation.”
