Innovate Finance joins member delegation to Davos

January 20th 2016, London UK: Innovate Finance, the independent membership organisation for global FinTech, today announced it will attend the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Annual General Meeting in Davos, Switzerland. A delegation of Innovate Finance members and partners including Infosys, City of London, Hogan Lovells and freuds will join the conference, which takes place from the 20th -23rd of January.

Innovate Finance will take part in a series of fringe events and its participation at Davos signals the growing importance of FinTech at the heart of global economic discussions.

The 2016 World Economic Forum is set to focus on the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ and the potential transformative impact of technology through the fusing of physical, digital and biological spheres in the 21st century. In an interconnected world, the rise of breakthrough technologies has been recognised to have a huge impact on the economic access and opportunity for millions across the globe.

Commenting on the significance of the visit Lawrence Wintermeyer, CEO of Innovate Finance and London Tech Ambassador, said: “Our presence at Davos demonstrates the impact the sector has had on financial services over the past few years and provides us with an opportunity to converse with major influencers and visionaries. The UK has the world’s largest FinTech ecosystem and is worth £20 billion to the British economy. It includes innovations such as mobile payments, crowd sourcing, peer to peer platforms and data analytics.
