Makers Academy and Innovate Finance announce strategic partnership championing diversity in FinTech

Representing the UK’s global FinTech community, Innovate Finance is proud to announce a new partnership with Europe’s leading engineering course; Makers Academy.

The independent not-for-profit has big plans to tackle digital identity and inclusion issues in 2017, particularly in relation to attracting global talent post-Brexit.

Makers Academy supplies premium level engineering talent to a 60+ companies in the FinTech sector, through a highly selective process that accepts less than 10% of appIicants. Its most recent cohort is 51% women, with an average of 35 people entering the employment market every 6 weeks.

Ruben Kostucki, COO of Makers Academy believes that “the FinTech industry is one of the most important sectors in the UK economy. At Makers Academy, we train junior software engineers from a multitude of different backgrounds. Traditionally, FinTech teams may lack diversity, and for this reason we are passionate about supplying the Innovate Finance community with cutting-edge talent across a broad range of identities.”

Georgia Hanias, Head of Global Communications and Diversity Lead at Innovate Finance said “We are really excited about the benefits you can bring to our members, and the impact your software engineers will have on success in the FinTech sector.”
