Coffee and Customer Service

Think of your favorite place to grab a bite to eat when you are out on a Saturday afternoon.

Have that place in mind?

Now their food is undoubtedly good, why else would you go there? But there is also something that may not be as noticeable, that keeps you coming back…

Their service.

There are about five coffee shops within two miles of my home that I could go to regularly, but only one gets my business on a regular basis. The reason for this is twofold. First, it’s good coffee! It’s hard to be in business if you have a bad product, so having good coffee is key. The problem that arises is that four of the five coffee shops around me have that same high quality taste. So why do I choose just one?

Their service.

When it is 6 a.m. there are certain things that are key to providing a good customer experience.

· Accuracy- there is nothing worse than getting a triple shot nonfat iced mocha latte concoction when you didn’t ask for it (especially so early in the morning)

· Speed- I’ve got places to be if I am in your drive-thru window, so don’t keep me waiting too long

· A smile- It’s early and I am not 100% awake yet, so a friendly smile is always nice

These may seem simple but only one of the four coffee shops around me got it right and the reason?

Their commitment to service.
