Restoring Youth’s Interest in Sports

There is no doubt that sports have a great impact on shaping our youth’s personality and temperament. Sports provide for a healthy source of channeling the energies of young kids. While sports used to be extremely popular with kids in the past, this has changed somewhat with technology shaping our society. Kids these days are not as enthusiastic about sports, as they are to sit around and play video games or socialize on their Smartphones. This lack of active exercise can lead to long-term negative impact on a child’s development and an ability to perform as an adult.

Lack of Responsible Organizations:

Unfortunately, we lack organizations required to ideally focus on youth sports and help it to flourish. While there are many agencies and organizations focusing on specialized and major league sports, youth sports get overlooked. You would be shocked how little research and statistics are available regarding youth sports. This is a big blow to kids who actually are interested in sports as they don’t get the attention or funding they need.

Decline in Popularity of Sports:

In 2007, the Sports and Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) reported that 34.7% of children between the ages of 6 to 12 were involved in sports activities, up to 3 times a week. A percentage of 44.7% of kids between the ages of 13 to 17 were involved in sports up to 3 times a week. By 2014, the number of kids between the ages of 6 to 12 fell down to 26.9% and for the kids between the ages of 13 to 17, it fell down to 39.8%. This is a significant drop in the popularity of sports among the youth, mainly on account of the technology revolution and lack of local organizations to support youth sport industry.

Role of Parents in Keeping Sports Alive:

In 2015 Harvard University published a study that showed 75% of parents with children in middle or high school mentioned that they encourage their kids to be active in sports. However, today’s children seek more instant gratification and stimulation from their activities. Parents are at a loss of how to combine the technological wizardry of video games with the health benefit of outdoor sports. InsideCoach has solved the problem.

InsideCoach- Where Technology Meets Sport:

At InsideCoach, we are determined to bring youth back to sports. The key is to merge technology into the sports activity while giving positive instant feedback to the user. This keeps them engaged and increases their desire to improve.

We offer a smart technology based gadget inside of a soccer ball. This device is able to detect statistics like play time, ball touching, ball passes, real time coaching cues, spin on the ball, trajectory and a number of other variables. The gadget can be connected to your Smartphone or tablet through an easy to use app to display all these stats and figures. It also provides progressive coaching guidelines to the user on how to improve their game.

The soccer ball looks normal on the outside; it rolls and plays like any other normal soccer ball. Its secret is the technology inside that brings your child back to the field of sports. With our InsideCoach smart soccer ball you get a coach, a statistician and all the fun of a regular soccer ball. We hope to make a positive impact on the future of our kids by keeping them active.
