Our Biggest Update Ever For Insight Timer Plus Subscribers

Insight Timer has always been free; it’s the foundational promise upon which our company is built. Today our library contains more than 200,000 tracks, making us the largest free wellbeing library on earth. To keep Insight Timer free, we created Insight Timer Plus, an optional $5 monthly subscription for those who want to support our mission financially. I’m excited to announce we are releasing the biggest update ever to Insight Timer Plus this August. And the price remains exactly the same.

Millions of people visit Insight Timer every day to sit, contemplate and belong. No one else has achieved this on a global scale like we have. It’s a responsibility that I can’t put into words.

Building a quiet place of contemplation is hard. How do you make silence interesting? While most apps focus on Dopamine hits (rewards & motivation), we choose to focus on Serotonin (happiness and peacefulness). This means the set of tools available to our designers and developers is much more limited. But this is where our team excels.

Next week we’re launching a new Timer for our Plus subscribers. Look closely. Some of you — the musicians, artists and virgos perhaps — will spot the craftsmanship and care. The deep resonance of the Native American flute. The long audio tail of the Duduk as it fades into the ether. The graceful slide of instruments moving into sight, before taking pride of place at the centre of our coveted bell collection and resting under a Gaussian blur.

And even for those of you who don’t see them, you will still feel them. That’s why we hear it time and again; “there’s just something about Insight Timer”. I like to think it’s the work of our artists, musicians, developers and teachers collaborating to create that soft gentle flow of Serotonin which says to you “Everything’s ok. You belong”.

A new premium Timer

The new premium Timer offers hundreds of long-form ambient sounds and soundscapes. Drift away to mesmerizing water and wildlife sounds, Binaural Beats, Chakras, Solfeggio Tones and Sound Healing.

The new premium Timer also includes 30 beautifully recorded starting Bells, including flutes, chimes and drums. Each month we’ll add more bells and ambient sounds so keep an eye out for updates.

To access the premium Timer, click on the original Timer and follow the prompt.

New Premium Tracks

For many years our teachers have asked for solutions to publish their most sought-after tracks on Insight Timer, instead of withholding them exclusively for sale on their personal websites. With the launch of premium tracks, our Plus subscribers can now access thousands of new premium guided meditations and music tracks from our top 1,000 teachers without having to leave Insight Timer.

Premium Tracks will start to appear in the app from today. For teachers that you already follow, you will receive notifications of their premium tracks in your notification panel. If you follow lots of teachers, you might receive many notifications in the next few weeks while we finish uploading them all :) You can also access Premium Tracks directly from a Teacher’s profile screen, or the newly designed Plus tab.

Challenges Anytime

Challenges have become one of our most popular features with hundreds of thousands of participants over the last 18 months. In August our Plus Subscribers will be able to select any Challenge from the newly created Challenges Archive, and do them again in their own time.

A new Plus Tab

The new Plus release contains a newly designed Plus tab which will feature regular Editorials and Lists for Plus subscribers. Check back weekly for exclusive content and recommendations.
