Olympians + Sleep = Gold

Sleep is the best remedy for most people, especially Olympians. Many of the Olympians that we have seen competing this week rely on sleep to gain a competitive advantage. In order to get ready for the Olympics there is a lot of training and recovery, but sleep is one of the most important aspects to the athletes in boosting their performance.

Phil Dalhausser, beach volleyball player is a two-time Olympian who won Olympic gold at the 2008 Beijing Games and was awarded most outstanding player.

When I sleep well my mind is sharp and it’s easy to focus. On a bad night’s sleep my brain feels foggy and I have a tough time focusing. Sleep is very important for muscle recovery. I find that if I’m not sleeping well I tend to be a little more sore the next day.” –Phil Dalhausser
