the writer unlocked a gruesome yarn
from the caverns of his keyboard
words of an original daring plot
in a language bold and cold
it was a troubling tale
of killings in the world of academia
so intriguing
that a a classical epic version

I outlined it for some former collogues
with Beaujolais over dinner
very attentive and concerned were they

Getting down to court procedures
Be a tiresome task

How many pieces of court papers seem to have invisible legs.
Then you find them, where you least expect
No wonder lawyers look half dead.
I’m sticking to the arts.
Even though, I was tempted to become
A high end barrister, at times.
Stick with what we love
I don’t want wobbly eyes
Or a client, who owes me money
They never pay on time.
Unless they’re in jail.
The only jail time I’d consider, is going to drag Poems out of inmates doing time.

Winning the Fight (Wonderful News!)

Strength of purpose and knowing what is right
creates the greatest truth when winning the fight
My experience in a lawsuit to right a wrong
took ten years from opponents with lawyers strong
After so many years my life had totally changed
their plan to wear me down made me look deranged
My main reward was not to win a monetary rate
but to make a law to save others from a tragic fate
My purpose was rewarded but I’ll never be the same

many without your dedication would give up defeated
But in your determined and steadfast way you were true

When told at first year you were defeared, you warred on
took it to a higher federal court and won your paragon
Then the challengers, fought you back with an appeal
and to your esteemed credit and thier shame you won the deal
Only someone with strength in charachter would have fought so hard
When you knew you were right you fought them all along.

Imagine a world there wasn’t difference
now that ain’t my kinda place
All people need to be lessoned
education stretches folks brains,

no good living and regretting
while leaving behind big blank space
Aleme Gammo
Alemme Gammo, a poet in his own right,
found in the pages of All Poetry,
an inventor of poem of various formats,
an educator of the new forms of poetry.
He founded the form Haku which is different
from the traditional Haiku, and many other
forms as well. He is a patient teacher and has
made a name for himself in poetry circles.
It is a pleasure to share these pages with him.

I am writing to express my gratitude to Aleme Gammo for teaching me many poetic styles via All Poetry website. I have yet to try all of them, but I do like his styles and hope to continue learning with him for some time to come.
I like the educational style of Aleme Gammo as he is patient and understanding and explains things when maybe I am finding a topic difficult.
There are many different ways to approach poetry but Aleme Gammo is someone whose styles I enjoy learning and taking part in his contests.

Learning About Aleme Gammo Today
What do I know of Aleme Gammo?
Only that he has a voracious vocabulary.
He is a poet, a Telecom technician, the son of a vet,
and a sage word-player.
From Ethiopia, surrounded by spirit, possibly of his birth mother.
Aleme writes of dendrites; I thought only I did that. Few do.My hell is a Lake of Fire to him; this made me smile as I read his poetry.
He cautions others to be wary of long-distance love photos.
He appreciates the preceding generations which invented much.
“My friends say I’m debonair and gentle,” he says. Blaming them.He has written thirteen books, six are poetry. One is an anthology.
He makes fun of the prissy high-brow Ethiopian list,
Which makes me think he secretly wants to be on there.
I do believe if anyone should be, it should probably be him.He writes “I am so, so, interviewers hate me.”
This made me laugh, knowing his sense of humor now.

Gammo, could have come from the same village
milked the same beasts before school
tired at our desks
Adolescents off to greece
make a fortune selling chinese junk
teats all past
Slim in designer jeans
fat into mid-life
villa with pool
Both with good income
a perchance for occasional rhyme
happy with a meaningless existence
Sunday boating on the Siene
Oh Aleme i heard the girls call
each to each
Unlike me
not a man overboard
curse of slapping surf to herd!
Mister Gammo so far from grief,

How can I be honest,
when I’ve already lied to myself?
I hide it behind closed doors,
putting the truth on the inconvenience shelf.Smile like it’s the right thing to do,
yet inside you act, everything is fine.
Actions say we are in control,
while our heart is in a steady decline.How can I hold it together?
The flame dwindles as time evaporates,
lying, I am fine, words spoken,

Messages hide their thoughts of love,

The night befell with shadows
creaking sounds made hallows
by looking at the windows through the hole.
I looked in the far distance
just saw a ghost with amber stance
floating like gallows making me terrified by its shadow.
Never had the courage to go near
Even though I’m at a distance very far
I belge like a potato and screamed with a whistle blow.
Suddenly it starred so straight
Making me shiver in fright
Till now not able to forget what happened on the deadly night.
I don’t know till now it is a nightmare
All I did is to have a cold shower
just closed my eyes and slept in the bed till the morning dawn.

Some whom we’ll never know
Some places on earth no matter how hard you
Try, give you no room to grow
You can study all day and work all night
With barely a meal to eat
Get up when you fall but the powers that be
Keep knocking you off of your feet
Some manage to make it once in a while
When they get the chance to flee

I break all discouragement off of you
God is not done with you yet
so don’t bow down to the ways of the devil
Pick yourself up and turn things around
The Bible especially Psalms talks about trials
David got discouraged many of times
but he did not stay there
don’t know how many prophets wanted to go home early
but it was not their time and God kept them around for awhile
You have a purpose and a destiny
By Jesus’s stripes, you are healed
I command all infirmity to loose you and go
I bind healing power unto you in Jesus name
Lord this man of God needs a divine miracle
there is nothing too difficult for you
as a matter of fact when things look this bad
that is when you shine for we know we cannot do it
Pour your spirit upon Gammo
Shine your light of truth upon him
Bring him prosperity and provision in Jesus name
Provide all of Gammo’s needs
Encourage Gammo Lord
Give him strength, hope and Joy
comfort him and surround him with your Glory
Pour your love upon Gammo and give him your Peace
Jesus Jesus Jesus rest your spirit upon Gammo
Let him experience your love
make a way for him where there is no way
Healing, overtake him by your spirit Lord
And when it does become his time
Shine your light upon him and lead him unto you
fear has no place in him and he will be excited to meet you
earth is not our home we are just a passing through

Life is often shaped by blows,
blows that jar and hurt.
Adversities can unmake,
And remake
our very being. For a Christian,
sufferings can become blessings,
if borne, with faith and patience
looking toward Jesus,
who has undergone
the worst of it all.
So, sister mine,
shed your cloak of sadness,
and look around —
at the hills, the valleys, the sky,
the children playing about !
Praise the Almighty God;
for He raised Jesus from death
and sent the Holy Spirit
to dwell within us.
“Do not fear, for I am with you,
do not be dismayed
for I am your God.”
Was spoken through prophet Isiah.
Resurrected Jesus walks the earth
even today.
You need not die,
and reach heaven, to see Him.
Just close your eyes,
And with love call Him!
He is close to the broken-hearted.
My dear Aleme,
turn your back on the past.
Walk the life that remains
with joy in the Lord.
Reach out to the afflicted,
to heal your own,
Dying in melancholy,
is the Enemy’s trap.
To die in peace and joy,
secure in the gift of salvation,
is our Saviour’s desire,
a recompense we can offer
for His agony, passion, and crucifixion
Saying good-bye
My dear friend, Alleme, saying good-bye is not easy;
Your feeling of detachment from the physical world,
loss of interest in things formerly found pleasurable
or even a tendency to sleep more or less desire to talk
~ These are the beginning of thinking to let go of life.
But, thinking of the end doesn’t end the relationship;
the bond remains just as strong; some activities and
rituals may help to establish and maintain
the bond forever; let’s not forget HE wants us to
be happy and joyful- that’s part of God’s will for us.
