This just comes across as unreasonable. Every service has wealthy backers. This one just has a public face. You should judge the service on its merits. There’s not much of a difference between Tidal and Spotify except that one had a head start so it has more music. Anyone who wrote Tidal off because of that initial moment never had any intention of giving it a chance in the first place and is just using that press conference as an excuse. I wish people would just admit it and stop clouding the blogosphere with their faux-populist critiques. You just said it “has so little of what you’re interested in” so then you were never the target in the first place.
