Job: Research Assistant in Respiratory Epidemiology (London)

IPF JES is a research study to find out if work environments cause idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (a scarring lung disease)

We’re looking for a Research Assistant in Respiratory Epidemiology who:

  • Wants to carry out high quality clinically important research
  • Cares about population health
  • Is good at communicating with technical and non-technical people to get the job done

IPF JES is a case-control study led by @drcjar at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London. The research team is multi-disciplinary and comprises clinicians, epidemiologists, statisticians, geneticists, and immunologists.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Recruiting to IPF JES
  • Collecting data for IPF JES
  • Analyzing collected data

You have a good undergraduate degree, preferably in a scientific or mathematical discipline, or equivalent research experience.

Your skills and abilities include:

  • Excellent reasoning and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to deal with a wide range of people
  • Ability to organize own work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to prioritize own work in response to deadlines

The package:

  • Full-time and fixed-term available for two years
  • Based in London at the Royal Brompton Campus
  • Salary £31,740 — £33,370 per annum
  • 25 days of annual leave per year
