“The mind is the king of senses, but breath is the king of mind”
-Hatha Yoga Pradipika-
Interview is not just a simple word it has a lot of meanings in it. This word contains so many terms like hard work, Sacrifices, motivation, Passion, continuous struggle and effort etc. Interview is a key step in order to get a job. But if you don’t do your best in your interview then you will lose the opportunity of that job. If you are well prepared for an interview and you feel nervous then you are not alone,so many people feel the same as you. It is a natural process everyone has to go through this process.Interview is an important part of job as well as for life. There are so many types of interviews like informational interview, job interview, screening interview and case interview etc. But Job interview is most important in all these categories and you feel more nervous in job interview.
Having some nervousness is good, it means you care about your job it keeps you on your toes. But if you reach the high level of anxiety and tension then it will leave the negative impact on the interviewer. So take the stress out. You can keep your nerves calm before an interview by doing some breathing exercises. There are a lot of exercise but few are most important and practicable exercises that you can do easily before an interview in order to calm your nerves.
Your words will create greater impact on others, if you implement it by yourself before telling it to the others. Then you words will influence other. For this purpose I have implemented few breathing exercise on me believe me it is awesome and did great with me. I did Nadi Shodhana, Sama Vritti and Guided Visualization. Although these are all breathing exercises but Nadi Shodhana and Sama Vritti are most effective for an interview. In the case of Guided Visualization you need brilliant coach. Later I will tell you how Guided Visualization is different from others.
I am going to share my experience of Nadi Shodhana. Alternate Nostril Breathing is another name of Nadi shodhana. For this exercise I find a quiet place in my house. My room was the best place for this exercise because no one can disturb me in my room. There is no restriction of time for this exercise so you can do it at anywhere. I spent 10–15 minutes for this exercise. I hold my right thumb over the right nostril and inhale deeply through the left nostril. At the peak of inhalation, I closed off the left nostril with the ring finger, and then exhaled through the right nostril. With this picture you can get the best idea of it.

I feel more relaxed and surprised that with just breathing we can control our nerves. My breathing rate was increased with this exercise . With this exercise my breath become more steady and smooth. This exercise don’t need extra time or special place so this is the best exercise before an interview, why I am saying this because I have applied it on my. Even when I was writing my thesis I felt much stress at that time, I did this and all my stress was gone. Because breathing is the king of mind and without this you can’t work properly. This exercise will also helpful for all stressful environment as well. This exercise not only helps us to overcome nervousness and stress but it also helps us to improve our breathing rate especially for those who want to swim but can’t do just because of their breathing rate. So this exercise will also help them.
I also did Sama Vritti and it is also best for an interview stress. You don’t need extra poses just sit and breath. When I started this exercise it left great impact on me. I enjoyed this activity. I felt like that which i have never felt that. I felt my inner feeling and surprised how breathing affects us to overcome nervousness. I felt relax after doing this exercise.

I love guided Visualization because it is not just an exercise, It is more than this. This concept was applied in so many movies like in “The conguring”. I also experienced this but the only thing that you need is a brilliant coach that has an ability to develop good imagination among others, as You need other person to complete this exercise.
How it feels like?you can get better idea with this picture.

Guided visualization leads you into a powerful imagination. It gives inner happiness. It can be implemented before an interview, just like when you feel nervous and feel stress the thing you need is just to think about the good achievements and the happiest moments about your life. It will give you confidence and courage.
