Ali Qapu is a grand palace located in Naghshe-Jahan square in Isfahan, Iran. It was built in Safavid era and was the entrance to the Safavid palaces. The word is a combination of Persian and Azerbaijani worlds and literally means the great gate. The palace has six floors and visitors may access them using the staircases inside the palace. The highest floor which is the music hall is made acoustic. The walls are hand-painted with by the famous painters of the time. The magnificent hall on the third floor contains 1 columns which are all decorated with mirrors. The ceilings of most rooms are hand painted and there are beautiful artwork on the walls of the music room. The paintings include floral, animals and bird paintings.

If you visit the city of Isfahan do not miss the opportunity to see this beautiful palace. It is located opposite of Sheikh Lotofllah mosque in the Naghshe-Jahan square.
