Vakil Bazar is one of the oldest and most known traditional bazar of Iran and is located in the center of Shiraz. The bazar was built in the 11th century AD. Near the bazar are located the Vakil mosque and Vakil Bath (and old public bath). In the time of Karim Kahn ruling, the bazar was the economical center of Shiraz. Nowadays you may enjoy taking a walk through the beautiful bazar and you may purchase a handicraft or two from the many handicraft stores located there, or visit its many carpet stores. The bazar has an impressive architecture.The interior is cool during hot summer days due to the vaulted brick ceilings. If you visit Shiraz, make sure to pay a visit to this beautiful bazar.
