8 Tips To Jump-Start A Successful Business

If you’re willing to start a business let me tell you this first. Starting a business is not elementary school. This is long hours, high-pressure, and lots of sacrifice. Are you willing to take all that in? If yes, continue reading this blog because I will be sharing some tips that can jump-start your career and position you on the right track.

Being an Entrepreneur is like driving in a heavy fog. You might not know what is out there but you are able to see just beyond your windshield. But the good news is, the longer you travel your journey as an Entrepreneur, greater you will get that lies beyond that fog. You will create the strong gut feeling that will help you when you are all ready to start a business.

Now for the most amazing part. The tips that helped me to establish a successful business. Let’s get started!

Ignore The Statistics

Edison failed 10,000 times before perfecting the incandescent electric light bulb. What does this tell you? He was a big failure, no. When asked in an interview why you did not abandon the idea. Edison said ‘I just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. Now I got one idea that will work for me.’ This is pure passion. This is trust that you need to have on yourself before anyone else sees it. People love to throw around the statistic that 95 percent of business fail. What I feel is that stats are for those who love to complain. The genuine Entrepreneurs ignore the facts and deliver great work.

Do Something You Love

As kids, we have those hobbies which take most of our childhood but we did that because we love those hobbies. As we grow up, these hobbies get ignored. Life happens and we get all busy in doing things that people tell us to do. We do jobs that we hate, we serve customers we don’t care, and we deliver things just for the sake of our boss.

As an Entrepreneur, you need to stop all of this. A successful Entrepreneur is someone who does what he loves. Despite the fact that people point out fingers, he delivers and shut them up. When you are planning to start a business, you will be labeled with insanely bizarre names. But in that instant of time, what you need to focus on is yourself. You know that you love your idea and you can prove everyone wrong by working hard on your idea. This mindset alone will drive your every day to do something great despite the critics.

Finish What You Start

I came across many Entrepreneurs and most of them are faced with the same problem. We love to start things but fail to finish them. In other words, you’re a great Entrepreneur with lots of ideas but you have a bad finisher. A successful Entrepreneur is someone who takes one thing and makes that successful. When I started my first venture I made this mistake of starting a parallel thing with my venture. Although it was a freelance job, my focus got blurry and venture my venture was shut down.

This is one thing you need to take care of. Always finish your thing and move on to another thing. If something is in the mid and you need to switch, make sure you delegate the first thing and move on to the second.

You Will Suck At Managing People And That Is Okay

When I launched my second venture this was my mistake. There were 20 people in my company and I was having a hard time in manning them. This was because my first venture had only 4 employees. Some things take time. And managing people is one of them. Managing people is an art. And you will learn it with time and practice. Do not curse yourself if you’re not able to manage people in the start.

Murder The Logo, Cards And The Stationary

Yes, I mean it in good conscience. You need to stop spending a lot of time in building your company logo or stationary. Just start with a basic logo and spend more time in establishing our business. The more you work on your business, better it will get. And once your business gets better, people will label you with your business work, not your logo.

Screw It, Let’s Do It Attitude

They say to keep a line between being obsessed and being dedicated. Well, if you ask me, screw that line. Trample right over it. You need to occasionally cross that line of the comfort zone and move away a little bit. High achievers are those who have mastered the let’s do it attitude. If you really want to succeed as an Entrepreneur you need to take more risks than others. You need to trust yourself more than others. If you know that your idea will work, go for it. Use your instincts to take decisions in your business.

Read A Lot

I don’t know how much you read each day. But the moment you decide to start your own business, you need to start reading. Read at least 600 words a day. Read biographies, read success stories, read blogs of successful Entrepreneur. Read whatever you can that can help you achieve your dream.
