Why recession should happen more often?
There can be more than one accepted reason to why we have created governments. However, at the basic level, every government is expected to take care of the well -being of the people who live in that nation, it’s citizens. This is to say, we select people among ourselves who seems “capable” of making our lives better by introducing laws and policies.
Given how we behave as humans it is primary to have reminders of what is important and keeping each other accountable for all the things we do. The challenge, however, which many government are faced with is simply: people’s tastes are different and what agonizes them too. Making it hard to personalize solutions for its citizens. Even worse, because people voluntarily put you in position of leadership they expect you to provide everything they demand from you. A wise approach, however, is to understand that government like our parents, they didn’t give us everything and that often, once in a while they will dissapoint us. As for the government we are far much better because we can choose another group, while with our parents we are stuck until death relief us.
So why is it important for a country to have recession and more often:
- It relief citizens from an individual customized failure. As a nation we cannot point out what are the real causes, it could be the fuel price that has been caused by farming that has resulted from lack of rain. We can “blame” many things which can relieve us from the constant agony of feeling like a failure.
- It shows us that failure is a social not personal: we secretly envy other people. And our envy is fueled by the lack of real understand of how difficult it really takes to both succeed and maintain a success. If we had super powers we would destroy the wealth of others just to be “equal” with them. Recession in the other hand offers us the superpower to damage other people wealth without our involvement.
- It re-create national pride: we enjoy it when we success and we get to recognized. We don’t like to relate our success on the beauty of our nation, or the infrastructure we have access to. Therefore, recession makes us to go back and appreciate our country and how good it has been without us realizing.
Our metrics of human economy and it’s activities are flawed. What we should be measuring is the wellness of the people not the GDP. If we took the mature approach to make the citizens fulfilled the GDP would take care of itself.
