I don’t understand why the negative consequences of open borders don’t enter into your moral calculus.
- slave-like working conditions for illegals
- lost labor for American citizens (many of them of Mexican descent) who refuse to be de facto slaves.
- wages hemorrhaging out of the country, dragging per capita income down, and further drawing wealth out of local communities and sending it overseas and to globalist corps far away from the places the wealth is generated.
I don’t understand how these considerations, and compassion for the communities suffering from them, don’t enter your calculus. Your big broad stroke: “Republicans hate immigrants” occurs without an rational evaluation of why having borders might be a good thing for the decentralization of wealth and power.
