Get to Know Microsoft Edge

A few months ago I switched from Chrome to Microsoft Edge to thin the number of apps on my PC.

The switch was fast and light. Effortless I’d say.

I find Edge to be even faster and lighter than Chrome, so I like it.

What discouraged me to make this change prior was the small number of addons that Edge at a that time.

Now the problems doesn’t even exist.

That’s why today I want to share with you my favourite Edge Addons.

Let’s start!

#1 — Improve YouTube! (Video & YouTube Tools) by code4charity

It’s an addons that let you customize everything in YouTube.

I love it. I can force theather mode, change the color of the progress bar, the theme of the entire site.

Il lets me customize every bit of the player, stop autoplay of the trailer for the channels.

You can also reverse a playlist if you need it. It gets rid of the annotations and every pet peeve you could have.

It’s great!

#2 — Disable HTML5 Autoplay by totallzero

It stops autoplay for every single HTML5 video you can encounter.

It’s a relief to have it. I HATE autoplaying content!

#3 — DocsAfterDark by waymondrang

It’s my last discovery in the addons fields.

I started using today because the other one that I was using disappeared on me.

It makes Google Docs go dark, both the site and the page and it makes it real easy to write and read. It’s fantastic!

#4 — Global Speed by polywock

It’s an addons that lets you choose the speed for the browser.

I like it cause it’s very customizable and I use it for YouTube.

It’s a little annoying to have to change the speed if you want a different one, but it does its job.

#5 — Keepa — Amazon Price Tracker by Keepa

The name says it all.

It lets you track the prize for every Amazon product so that you can land the perfect price deal.

Pretty cool, ain’t it?

#6 — PocketTube: Youtube PlayList Manager by PocketTube

I haven’t use this one in a bit, but it’s like a dream came true.

I hate the playlist manager in YouTube.

With this one you can create group for playlists and order them like you want.

I created a group for the music I use when I work, one for the gaming, one for the Minecraft series I watch to chill out.

It’s one of my absolute favorite!

#7 — Popup Blocker (strict) by Bermet

Self explanatory. It block pop-ups without being too invasive.

A must have for sure!

#8 — TurboPlay by TurboPlay Video Speed Controller

Another speed controller addons with an extra gear.

This consents you to choose the video speed per domain, but also per tabs.

It’s incredible.

I usually watch my chill series in 2x, while I’m more comfortable with a speed of 1.5x for the ones in Spanish and French. And I can do it. It’s so useful and amazing!

#9 — Unhook — Remove YouTube Recommended Videos by Unhook

Another addons for YouTube that lets you choose what can visualize on the site.

You can get rid of the Recommended Videos, of the sidebar videos.

You can choose to have a total blank homepage if you want.

I get rid of the Mixes, the shorts tabs, the trending and exploration pages.

I want to decide what to watch without things that’ll never interest me.

What more could you ask!

#10 — uBlock Origin by Nik Rolls

Last but not least, another must have.

An ad-blocker. On some pages there is too much shit you don’t want to see.

Better safe than sorry.

#Bonus: Honorable mention — Focus for Google Docs by joelgrayson.com

This one is not available on the Microsoft Edge Addons, but it’s from the Chrome Webstore.

It adds a tiny timer in the bottom right corner of the page and it help me in writing for you.

It’s simple and not overwhelming and it add to make it in the list cause I love it!

And that’s all for now.

I hope you liked this little journey among my favorite Edge Addons.

Have a good one!
