Garoppolo completely fulfilled the McDaniels early season offense while throwing to the likes of Amendola, so yes he can succeed in a system that depends on optimizing every player regardless of their comparative ability level. The Pats aren’t stocked with all world studs. They make the most of their highly dependable personnel — after they make the players dependable to begin with.

The only thing Groppo did wrong was failing to avoid injury in a scramble situation (he hadn’t looked at enough Brady film there).

If Groppo went elsewhere, his success would depend on the quality of the coaching staff as much as or more than the roster. He could easily succeed for a John Fox (who has shown that he can game plan around the likes of Tebow and Delhomme) and fail miserably for a Browns team (do they have an actual OC or is it split between Hue and Saunders?).

If Belichick can cut the likes of Law and Milloy loose, he can and would deal Groppo without blinking.

If Belichick sent Groppo to Cleveland, would it be solely to get max value from a senseless team that went out and did for Jamie Collins precisely what Belichick felt no one in their right mind ought to do (fill wheelbarrows with money)? Or, if BB expected Groppo to flame out, would it also be a measure of: “you didn’t like it when I ditched Kosar — how do like me now?”

If Brady were to get hurt significantly and show any signs of wanting to rehab and return to the game, Gisele would knock him to the floor and sit on him until he hollers uncle (or something similar but unintelligible).
