This will be about who they bring in. I think they already know who they want.

In the larger view, the most important task is to address the upcoming election. They need to do this fall what Tina Fey did in 2008. There’s an implicit mission and an obligation there.

Why not bring in an established ringer or two or a rent-a-pro (or an all star alumni rotation) until mid November and then reboot the show for the duration of the season?

All of which points to: Laura Benanti for starters. She wants in and has said so. They can take all the woman power they already have and make it even badder. And more versatile.
