All the gadgets and gizmos

South by Southwest (SXSW) is the one time during the year where the streets of Austin are overrun by designers, developers, engineers, marketing gurus, and business owners. That said, some of these people are the innovators of tomorrow and what’s to come in the world of tech. So I’m here now to share some of my experiences from SXSW whether it was running around 6th St. drinking beers with my friends, cruising around cool little book shops, eating amazing food, or meeting fellow designers I did my absolute best to document it all! Side note: Do yourself a favor and go to SXSW next year.

From global campaign strategies to Aerospace 3D Food Printing pizzas in the shape of the United States.

After a day full of long talks, walks, and workshops we decided to have some drinks and little VR (virtual reality) fun at the table. The Ginger Man is a must-go spot in Austin, so if you’re ever in town make sure to stop in there.

SXSW Dribbble Meetup

I didn’t really know what to expect since this Dribbble meetup had over 1200+ RSVP’s, my thought was that it’s going to be a total mad house! But a good kind of mad house, one filled with a great people, interesting conversations, and humble hearts which from my perspective was exactly how it went down.

DDC Pop-up Shop

I got to drop in and chat with the man himself Aaron Draplin, I really can’t say enough about this guy… In my opinion, he’s one of the most influential designers that I know and I’m always thankful to be able to sit and chat with him even if it’s just small talk. So thank you Aaron (if you’re reading this) for continually inspiring me to never stop making things for the people I care about. I look forward to visiting the shop at some point!

Running the Streets

Displayed below are some photos I took while venturing around during SXSW. There were tons of crazy gadgets and over the top vehicles cruising the streets.

Food & Fun

So much food, so little time. We ran around Austin trying the most recommended eateries in the area and to no surprise we ate like kings! We had fruit loop donuts from the famous Voodoo Doughnut to the delicious tacos from local restaurant chain, Torchy’s Tacos and if you go to Torchy’s you must try “The Roscoe” taco seen below on the right. We even got to go whack some golf balls at Top Golf which was really fun as well.

When in Texas you must have BBQ and maybe some Mexican vanilla ice cream balls too. The food on this trip was on another level.

Footnotes: Austin is an awesome city with great food, strong drinks, and weird people. I can’t wait to visit again soon!
