As a HUGE Oasis fan, I’m happy to see any mention of them at all in any pop culture space, but maybe someone who actually saw them in concert and/or wasn’t still in diapers when they were big should have written this. I guess I should be happy with anything at all.

The documentary is good, and definitely worth a watch if you like Oasis. But it’s nothing like actually seeing them in concert. Especially in the late 90’s and early 2000’s, Liam’s voice in concert was incredible, nothing like the nasal sound on the first couple records. The “Familiar to Millions” live record was a pretty good example, but even that failed to capture their real sound in an arena.

I also must question the author’s fandom if he quit listening halfway through “Heathen Chemistry.” It wasn’t their best record, but it’s still pretty pure. And “Don’t Believe the Truth” was fantastic, some of their best material.

I’ve also seen both Beady Eye and High Flying Birds solo, and enjoyed them both, but everyone knows we need a real Oasis reunion. I dunno if it will ever happen, but I’m still holding out hope.
