A lot of fallacies here. Where are the arguments?
First you appeal to emotion with a cool story about your grandfather. That doesn’t contribute in anything… just an attempt of manipulation.
Then you talk about a personal situation. How you were the best of your promotions and didn’t get a job in Silicon Valley. Again… no contribution. Your personal situation doesn’t provide anything worth to the debate or is valid for a generalization. It’s just again another attempt of manipulation, therefore a new fallacy. By the way, you should read Goleman to understand that mere skills are not everything in professional success.
If that is not enough, you end inquiring to him how he got his job, questioning him in a sad attempt of shaming. What are you trying to say? That he got his job just because he’s a man? Are you serious?
I think you are being emotional and putting ahead your own personal experiences and ignoring the reality and science. I tried, but I can’t find any argument in this article. Just personal experiences trying to appeal to emotions. I expected a software engineer to be more rational.
