Recently, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta (formerly Facebook), sent a letter to the House Judiciary Committee of the United States, led by Congressman Jim Jordan. This committee, known for its investigations into freedom of speech and censorship, had previously been involved in issues related to Brazilian judge Alexandre de Moraes and his oversight of digital platforms.

In his letter, Zuckerberg admitted that the Biden-Harris administration pressured Facebook to censor COVID-19 related content, including humor and satire. He acknowledged that this pressure was inappropriate and regretted not being more transparent about the situation.

Additionally, Zuckerberg addressed the controversy surrounding Hunter Biden’s laptop, which gained prominence close to the 2020 presidential election. The laptop contained information about allegations of corruption involving then-candidate Joe Biden and his family. According to Zuckerberg, Meta was advised by the FBI to treat the matter as potential Russian disinformation, leading to its temporary removal while awaiting review.
