How to steal and put on a show that make your content goes viral.

Why does a piece of writing go viral?

Is it because it has the crazily catching tune of Gangnam Style but in the written word?
Or is it great marketing like the pre-launch of the last book of the Harry Potter series?
Or guest blogging is the key?
Have you cracked your head thinking how to create a piece of viral content?
A old article by Seth Godin mentioned that the best approach is to write for just one person. Make an impact on just one person.
But which person?
You wife? Son? Your best friend? Your boss? Or the President?

I googled, “How to write viral content.”
The first 5 results are:

  3. How to Create Viral Content That Generates 2,500 Visitors Per Day. — neilpatel.com

  5. The Ultimate Guide To Creating Viral Content — Blog.Kissmetrics.com

That’s 2 business sites, 1 marketing site, 1 blogger site, and 1 analytic solution site.
Different approaches from different angles.
But does it really work if you follow their methods?
I don’t know.

What if we steal?

As the famous quote goes,

“Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal.” — T.S. Eliot’s book The Sacred Wood: Essays on Poetry and Criticism (1920).

What if I steal the catchy tune of Gangnam Style, the words from Seth Godin’s blog post, and infest the rest of the article with the words ‘viral’ and ‘content’ in an attempt to hit the SEO jackpot?
What will this abomination bring me?

I’m an immature writer, I’m not yet qualified to steal. So I better imitate.

Or I can invent my style?

In the bible under Ecclesiastes, it was written,

That which has been is what will be, That which is done is what will be done, And there is nothing new under the sun.

Does this suggest that what will be invented has already been invented and we are now just discovering them?

… my head is spinning.

Quote: Creativity is subtraction.

As it was written in Austin Kleon’s Book, Steal Like An Artist.
What is left out is as important or more important than what is filled.
What you have yet to explore is more inspiring than what you have.
In this age of content overload, what if I post a BLANK article?
Or a one word article?
Never mind, I don’t have the balls.

Show Time!

We are familiar with actors putting up a show on set, TV, movies. That is what they do for centuries. (This includes the stage, the King’s court.)
In the modern times we have marketers. Advertisements.
In companies we have employees doing their “busy at the desk” performances.
CEOs gets into the act too.
Putting on a show for investors and employees
Presidential candidates. Obviously! Tale as old as time…
Your resume for a job application. A show on paper.
Dad puts on a show for his son. Look son, I’m busy with work here on the computer. (Surfing youtube.)
Wife puts on a show for her mother-in-law. Another tale as old as time.

Am I putting on a show too as I write about writing copy that goes viral by stealing from great artists and writers, and content that has proved viral?

You can make this viral by sharing this impostor write up by clicking on the share button below and share with your friends. (I need help to put on this show that goes viral, thank you.)
