How To Create Six Unique Social Shares From Just One Piece of Content

So you’ve written a new blog post. You’ve shared it on social media. And now you’re waiting for visitors to roll on up to your website.

But while you wait, there’s so much more you can do to generate more social shares and increase website traffic.

Today I’m going to show you how to turn one piece of content into six unique social shares.

1. Create An Infographic

Infographics are highly shareable and a super way to visualize your valuable content. You don’t need to be skilled in graphic design to create one. There are several free tools available to help you do so. Visme, Piktochart, Canva, and Venngage are all good tools to try.

I used Canva to create the infographic below.

2. Write Multiple Tweets

At about 18 minutes, tweets have the shortest lifespan of any social media post. Even though the latest Twitter algorithm means that posts are no longer displayed chronologically, Twitter is fast-paced, and messages get buried quickly. To counter this, you need to share your post multiple times on Twitter to increase visibility (use a scheduling tool to optimize the times you post it).

This doesn’t mean you should post the same update every time. Using best practice headline tips, write multiple versions of tweets to post — and don’t forget to include a compelling image too.

3. Turn Quotes Into Images

Convert snippets from your existing articles into images using an image creation tool like Canva, Quotes Cover or Adobe Spark. For example, your blog post might include quotes from influencers whom you want to highlight, as in this example from an article I published on time-saving tips for social media.

4. Make A Video

People engage with video more than any other form of content. Take a popular blog post and break it down into a series of video tips. Here’s an example of a video I made and posted to my YouTube channel illustrating 7 types of engaging content.

Bonus Tip: Make clips or GIFs from the video to post in visual channels like Instagram.

5. Develop an eGuide

Collect your best blog posts on the same topic, add an introduction, and turn them into an eGuide. Here’s one of my most popular guides on conducting a social media audit.

6. Convert Content To Slides

Identify a piece of content that will convert easily into slides. Lists work really well, but with a little creativity you can also summarise and visualize key points from articles, podcasts, or infographics. Simplify the content by writing short copy (one point per slide) to communicate your message quickly and clearly.

You’ve already spent time and effort in creating your content. Now make the most of it by turning it into one or more of these suggested ways to maximize engagement.
