“The years worked is the overall number and it doesn’t represent their work experience in the current occupation. So a person claiming to be a data scientist may be on the job only for a week.”
It seems reasonable to conclude that some of the years experience/to pay discrepancies can be explained by more women retooling and entering the market after careers in other fields or raising children.
