Why do westerners always have to refer to any community outside of Europe or the US (that’s not a giant metropolis) as a “village”? It just reaks of arrogance. Even Rachel Maddow, who I love, just did it about a guy’s hometown in Guangdong, China. Guangdong is a province with over 100 million people (1/3 the population of the entire US), right next to Hong Kong. It’s got multiple cities with several million people. I just doubt you were referring to an actual “village.”
