#StartupChat Show Notes: “Top Entrepreneurs to follow” (12/6/15)

#StartupChat is a daily stream I do on Meerkat where the audience and I talk about best tips, practices and strategies on building startups. I will know start publishing show notes, you can find me @JFryeOfficial on Meerkat and follow for stream times.
A question I get a lot is what entrepreneurs do I follow, here are the entrepreneurs I mentioned in today’s episode.
Here are major growth focused startup people to follow, if you want to build the next unicorn (billion dollar company) follow them.
Jessica Livingston and Paul Graham, cofounders of Y Combinator.
They have created arguably the world’s best startup accelerator Y Combinator together. Read Founders at Work and Paul’s essays at http://paulgraham.com.
Sam Altman, founder of Loopt and President of Y Combinator.
Sam Altman founder Loopt at 19 in the first YC class and had an exit. He has now taken the reins of Y Combinator, check him out on Twitter @sama.
Here are 2 bootstrapped, anti-unicorn yet equally kick ass entrepreneurs. If you want to build a long lasting company with 40 hour work weeks, follow them.
Jason Fried and DHH cofounders of Basecamp.
These guys have built an amazing 15 year old company and have written many books on their experience. Check them out on medium; Jason Fried and DHH.
Here are 2 automated business/ personal development entrepreneurs, if you want a 4 hour work week to focus more on health, learning, traveling etc. check these guys out.
Tim Ferris author of the 4-Hour book series, podcaster and founder of BrianQUICKEN.
This guy is AWESOME. I have been listening to his podcast The Tim Ferris Show, it has given me a smidgen more balance in my life so my startup doesn’t kill me.
Pat Flynn, Founder of Smart Passive Income, Author and Podcaster
While Tim Ferriss covers a broad range of topics Pat focuses more on the automated online business strategies. Check out his podcast Ask Pat.
Here are some entrepreneurs that people ask me if I follow that I only follow a bit. NO HATE, I think they are kick ass as well. See why I don’t follow them as closely.
Tai Lopez, Investor and Content creator on Tailopez.com.
This guy gets a lot of hate, I don’t hate him at all. The only reason I don’t follow him as much is he doesn’t talk about building software products as much because he has other areas of expertise. If entertainment businesses are your thing, definitely check him out.
Grant Cardone, Real Estate Expert, Salesman and founder of GrantCardone.com.
Again pretty much the same case with Tai, Grant focuses on things outside of creating software products. If you are into sales and/or real estate this guy is a must follow, he has been a huge help to me on Meerkat as well. :D
