My thoughts on this four-part comic miniseries, an anthology of short stories all featuring Darth Vader, and all presented only in black and white, with shades of red.

Each issue of this Darth Vader themed anthology series features three short comics, although the first entry in each issue makes up a longer multi-part story that spans the entire series. The stories are as follows:

  • Hard Shutdown, the four-parter, about a cunning technological attempt to destroy Vader. Written by Jason Aaron, with art by Leonard Kirk and Romulo Fajardo Jr.
  • Inescapable, a text-free series of nightmares of a presumed survivor of a Vader attack. By Peach Momoko.
  • Dissolution of Hope, about Vader outsmarting a rebel plot. Written by Torunn Gronbekk, with art by Klaus Janson.
  • The Endless Mercy, a horrific creature encounter. Written by David Pepose, with art by Alessandro Vitti.
  • Power, about a young boy who idolises the order of the Empire. Written by Victoria Ying, with art by Marika Cresta.
  • Annihilated, a particularly devastating space battle undertaken by Vader. By Daniel Warren Johnson.
  • Diplomatic Impunity, featuring Vader picking out a single imperial officer for a mission. Written by…
