Comic Review — Star Wars: Sana Starros - Family Matters
My thoughts on this first miniseries to headline the Star Wars comics original character Sana Starros. Written by Justina Ireland, with art by Pere Péres, Jay David Ramos, Dono Sánchez-Almara, and Fer Sifuentes-Sujo.
Sana Starros has been knocking around the world of Star Wars comics for some years now; initially as a surprise addition to Han Solo’s history, and more recently as an increasingly significant figure in the life of Doctor Aphra. She was always pretty cool, but her appearances in the Doctor Aphra series have definitely made her ever more interesting to me. So I was pleased to see she was going to get a moment in the spotlight with her own series.
Sub-titled Family Matters, the Sana Starros series picks up with Sana after the events of the Spark Eternal arc in the Doctor Aphra series (see my review), and her breakup with Aphra. She returns home to sulk in the comfort of her family home, but well, the Starros family it turns out are just about as chaotic a presence as Aphra (you can see why Sana might find comfort in Aphra’s mad life given this context!). So in short order the clan find themselves attacked by Imperials, Sana’s cousin Aryssha is kidnapped, a Bounty Hunter is seeking her grandma Thea, and it just gets more complicated from there!
