Comic Review — Star Wars: Yoda #7–9: Size Matters Not

My thoughts on the third story-arc in the Yoda comic maxiseries. This tale a delightfully Clone Wars era team-up of Yoda and Anakin Skywalker. Written by Marc Guggenheim, with art by Alessandro Miracolo and Annalisa Leoni.

Following the previous two story arcs set before the prequel era movies, this third three-issue run in the maxiseries takes us right into the midst of the Clone Wars. In the best way possible it felt a lot like a really good arc in the Clone Wars TV series, with a fairly limited cast of characters off on a specific mission. That cast in this case was a quite uncommon team-up of Yoda and Anakin Skywalker. I really loved the dynamic between the two, especially the surprisingly playful dialogue.

Although a war story, this one felt a lot lighter than the previous two chapters, with a less lesson-heavy theming, and a lot more action and adventure. It was a lot of fun!

We open with Yoda under-cover (literally, Chicken Run style using a cloak to pretend to be a bigger person than he is) information gathering. Off the back of that he heads of to find out about the threat of a new Separatist weapon, which brings him face to face with General Grievous.
