On S01E09:
- Bronn foreshadows Tyrion killing Tywin: “I would have killed the man who did that to me.”
- The death of Ned Stark was so painful to watch. So, so painful. I would have loved to hear your opinions on whether Ned’s execution was planned (and who planned it, because they ought to make Arya’s list), as opposed to Joffrey’s spontaneous kill order.
- Tyrion lists out the ‘terms’ of his relationship with Shae, which comes back to haunt him later when she (in his view) betrays him. Tyrion can no longer provide the safety, conversation and gold he promised, once he is in a cell, so she takes what Cersei and Tywin have to offer her.
On S01E10:
- I thought you would mention the parallel between GoT and Harry Potter. Samwell, Grenn and Pyp stop Jon Snow from leaving The Night’s Watch, similar to Neville Longbottom trying to stop Harry, Ron and Hermione from leaving the Gryffindor common room after hours (in The Philosopher’s Stone).
- Mirri Maz Dur said “only death can pay for life”, so I thought that the three dragon eggs in the funeral pyre were given life in exchange for three deaths: Khal Drogo, the miscarried Rhaego and Mirri Maz Dur.
