The chaotic events that took place concerning Sterling, and Castile were incredibly horrific, and heartbreaking. The entire world watched as two innocent black men fought for their lives on camera, due to the actions of a few cowardly police officers. After viewing the incident one couldn’t help but feel a sense of disgust and dislike towards the officers of the law.

One could only imagine what it must have felt like for Sterling and Castile to be in such a hostile situation, where the only relevant factor was the color of their skin. For decades African Americans have been conscious of the harsh realization that in America we aren’t viewed as human beings.

Fortunately social media has played a role in exposing the truth. “Black Lives Matters” has been a constant phrase that has taken not only the African American community by storm, but the entire world! Most people may argue that “all lives matter” but one can argue that, that phrase alone is highly outrageous.

“Black Lives Matter” is not just a phrase, or statement rather than a movement. This movement has not only bought black people of all ages together, but other ethnic groups as well who believe that a change is necessary in the so called land of the free.

When we stand together against an unjust system that has been designed to literally destroy individuals of color and people who are considered irrelevant, it creates a boundary of which produces an incredible force that is not to be tampered with.

Malcolm X said it best when he explained that freedom and equality isn’t going to be handed to you, because one must simply go out and get it! Recently white people have tried their very best to downgrade the idea that “Black Lives Matter” while proclaiming it to be something that it isn’t, such as another version of the kkk, which is incredibly foolish thinking. Unfortunately individuals fighting for freedom and equality are wise enough to ignore that statement.
