The public education system in the US is greatly lacking. Teachers being paid crumbs and having to use those crumbs to furnish classrooms and educational tools. School administrators overwhelmed by the pressures of budget cuts, hitting academic targets for funding, and now talks of arming the staff. In the midst of all of this are people who spend more time with my child than I do and whose influence will shape my son’s outlook for the better or not.
