Thank you for proving my point that some gun owners are cult-like and lack the maturity or emotional discipline to be safely operating firearms.

Unfortunately for your rather poor and uneducated arguments I’ve been quite safely operating firearms for several decades. But hey, honesty isn’t your thing and you’ve proven than in spades.

I tried to show you respect and engage like an adult,

No, no…your referring to gun owners, the NRA, and similar as “cult members” is nothing close to the kind of maturity expected of adults. You didn’t try and it seems you actually need a dictionary now. Or maybe a picture book.

Just ask yourself why every stat that shows more guns equal more homicide is suspect (even when from Harvard, etc. here’s a link) and every one that claims to show the opposite (usually from NRA-affiliated groups) is 100% accurate. How adorably Trump-ish.

I don’t have to ask myself because, unlike you, I’ve actually read the sources of your stats and I’m familiar with the authors. You see, if you actually read these “studies” (and by reading I mean you actually have to read them and their citations) you’d notice that names like “Hemenway”, “Kellerman”, and “Azrael” come up fairly often. Not surprisingly you’d find that these researchers have made their careers on publishing pseudo-science in order to support Federal and State gun-control legislation. Stats that show “more guns equal more homicides” are suspect, not only because they are peddled by known gun-control shills, but also because it’s demonstrably false and data that has absolutely nothing to do with your favorite boogeyman (read: the NRA) proves that. Notice that you won’t even look at the FBI’s data yourself because you know the numbers that support my arguments are there and you can’t spin them. Cowardice among gun-control advocates isn’t anything new though.

Your biggest incorrect statement is your claim to be smarter than me. You’re not. If you were, you could get your point across without weak insults. You would realize I haven’t been emotional at all, but have often apologized for things that sounded insulting and expressed my desire to respect you. (Compare insults in your replies to mine as evidence.)

It’s not an incorrect claim at all. I am in fact considerably smarter than you and when it comes to the topic of firearms the gap in intelligence is massive. It’s really not fair for you but then again I really don’t care or have any respect for the opinions of someone so ignorant. You don’t respect me, you don’t respect gun owners in general, and you certainly don’t respect the idea of being a rational and objective person.

Most of all, if you really were smart, you would notice that I have agreed with you on some points — guns are necessary in some places and in some ways.

Well that’s more of an assumption on your part. You see, I haven’t made that argument specifically so your agreeing with me here doesn’t mean anything. I’m not sure why you are even trying to make this point since your understanding of the application of force involving firearms is practically nonexistent.

Instead you just choose to speak as if I’m some stereotype in your head.

If you were just a tiny bit self-aware and had a good grasp of the history of gun-control advocacy, you’d actually know why you are the stereotype of a gun-control advocate. I’d rather speak to you like you were a semi-rational, educated adult but that is indeed a unicorn amongst gun-control advocates.
