As a newly converted Republican, I can see how a candidate like Trump seems less than appealing.

I honestly don’t get the mental gymnastics needed to claim that a hereditary billionaire accustomed to buying politicians to push his own agenda is somehow not part of the establishment or is incorruptible.

This man himself is a special interest and has amply proven that his only concern is his pocket. He lies, mocks, insluts, denies the objective truth, twists facts to fit his views, and acts like the worst stereotype of an American possible, and somehow these are virtues that mark him as a potentially great president that will “make America great again”?

Hell, many financial experts have proven that the only reason he’s a “successful” businessman is because he’s rich enough to survive repeatedly fucking up (and losing other people’s money, I might add, never his own) and actually doing nothing with his inheritance but investing it for the lowest possible return would have resulted in him being richer than he currently is.

“Telling it like it is” or “speaking your mind” are not virtues when the words that come out are like those Trump routinely spouts.

It’s sad to see his many uneducated followers who respond to his bullshit because it echoes their ignorant views, but it’s sadder to see educated people like you support him because you do not have that excuse.
