Did all of that research into finding the most curious paintings of the past have a creative pay-off?
In the book series that we are building, Amelia decides that she must fly to the moon. As things turned out, she didn’t make it to The Moon, but she did make it to a little town or village called Moon, Virginia. It was there that she learned about a world quite the opposite from our world of The Garden. She learned about the world of The Circus where there were many odd characters in that world. This past weekend, I worked on illustrating one of them, referred to only as The Creepy Clown Guy, formerly The Joker of Death.
If you look carefully, you will see a visual reference to a painting we’ve looked at before here on Medium. Can you spot it? (answer at the end).
And the feathery background? It’s there because Amelia is molting right now. No flying to the Moon (or anywhere else) for a few weeks.
