I wonder if you could put a number on the membership of these fringe groups?

3000 might well be about right overall but the biggest group, the SWP, while they turn up in numbers at Corbyn rallies and meetings, are not intending to join Labour. They think it best to stay outside (see link).
The main thing, though, is not the numbers but the views of Jeremy Corbyn and John McDonnell. They were happy to welcome Leninist groups into the LRC from its foundation. Now they are at the top of Labour, do they see Parties such as the Socialist Party (aka Militant Tendency) returning?
I’d love a journalist to ask either of them if they believe these LRC affiliates should have an official home in Labour and, if not, why did they invite them into the LRC.
