JUXDIT at the UK Drone Show 2016

Here at JUXDIT.com, we love all things to do with drones. From the disruption they are causing in different industries to the potential they give photographers to capture that perfect shot from the sky. The drone industry has exploded these last few years within the UK.

Drone sales in the UK rose by 24% ahead of the festive shopping rush in 2015, with electronics dealer Maplin Direct reporting domestic drone sales of more than 10,000 units over a 12-month period. The retailer gave the reason for the boost in profits of 2.4 percent directly to drones.

Therefore it made perfect sense for JUXDIT to attend to the UK Drone Show at the NEC in Birmingham to check out the current trends within the industry. The show was attended by some of the biggest drone manufacturers, such as DJI, Parrot and Yuneec.

Also in attendance where first-person view drone makers, drones about to launch a Kickstarter campaign to get their project funded and professional drone racers. The latter where prepared to test their skills in the racing circuit set up by the organisers. Safe to say there was some intense races and crashes!

The highlight of the show for me was to see some of the Parrot drones in action. The Parrot drones are some of the best available drones on the market, and they where demoing the Bebop 2, Mambo and Swing drones. They also let attendees to have a simulation of the first person view of the Disco, Parrot’s new drone which allows users to get a first person view via a headset. The booth had a large queue and was certainly one of the more popular booths of the show.

Overall, the Drone Show 2016 was a fantastic experience which gave great insight into the new developments in the drone industry. From seeing the new DJI Mavic Pro in action to getting a sneak peak of some of the new drones on the market. We all here at JUXDIT are looking forward to the Drone Show 2017.
