Jack LaForce is a mortgage loan officer in Westlake, Ohio. In his free time, he actively pursues various sports. Jack LaForce also likes to go fishing when he has the chance, having fished often growing up in Lake Erie, which was not far from his childhood home.

Lake Erie was in the news in October of 2016 for becoming one of the most rapidly growing sites where fishing competitions are held. Every fall a large tournament takes place, with 2016’s lasting from October 21st to December 21st. At last year’s event more than 1,200 entered the competition.

Known as the Lake Erie Brawl, it is open to fishermen of all levels of experience, from experts to those who are new to the sport. There is a prize for catching the five largest walleye in the event, with the grand prize being over $18,000. Lake Erie is known as the best walleye fishery in the country, according to enthusiasts.
