‘Hi LinkedIn!’ — Entry 003

We’re really ramping up our marketing efforts ahead of #ThePledgeUK (which loyal readers of mine will know all about!) so I hope you’re all seeing more of me on the world wide web and on your commute into work. You may have seen my recent interview with Marketing Week last week which was all about yourfeed and my mission to connect two million millennials to commercial opportunities by 2020. If not, you can see it here.

My favourite quote in the piece is “Parsons jokes that LinkedIn should be worried of yourfeed growing so big it will soon be able to buy its more established rival from Microsoft. Even if that seems unlikely at present, there’s no doubting yourfeed is tapping into something important. Whether it can engage young people in large numbers remains to be seen.”

Whilst I’m certainly not thinking of making any acquisition offers quite yet, I am really keen to find any like-minded business leaders and professionals who support the Pledge and would like to get involved with the tour. If that’s you, then do drop me a line or comment below.

As we get towards graduation time and summer holidays for those in education, more and more young people will be thinking about their futures. Now’s the time for businesses to step up and offer these talented, skilled individuals an open door to a fulfilling career.

On a side note — I went back to Essex at the weekend — after moving out three weeks ago — to see Alfie Parsons, my little Jack Russell. He was very excited to see me and was running up and down the garden like Scooby Doo! I then surprised him with dog corn (the dog version of popcorn) he definitely enjoyed watching Netflix on Saturday with his dog corn!
