The one aspect that actually impresses me is the time and resources that went into the endless meetings and planning to ensure all the toys, happy meals, sheets, cereal and other related products align with the release of the movie. That must have been staggering. I don’t think we realize the process that goes into the effort by very smart people to solicit our money.
I could not agree more with your observations. It seems every aspect of our lives have been hijacked by commercialization and commodification but so cleverly presented to appeal to our emotions, values, fears and aspirations.
This is the reality of the country we live in. I don’t know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. Personally, I don’t like the feeling that I am being manipulated by people confidently thinking that I don’t even know it is taking place.
