There is good news here. As you probably know, just this month Saudi Arabia allowed woman to vote for the first time in that country’s history. Malala Yousafzai a bright and young voice in Pakistan is empowering young women and states the world over to make education a top priority for girls instead of confining them to cultural norms and traditions. By the way, I recently heard Malala’s Nobel Prize acceptance speech and it was profound, inspiring and beautiful.

As a result of these example and many more I am optimistic that the world is beginning to realize that women are more than capable of making their own life decisions and without their active participation in all areas of our society we as a people are less because of it.
