Eventually, two reasons became clear for FBI Director James Comey’s dismissal:

  1. Comey never provided the President with any assurance of personal loyalty.
  2. The FBI’s investigation into possible Trump team collusion with Russia in the 2016 election was accelerating.

The president fired Comey because he believes the Russian ties to him is a hoax and “it (the investigation) should have been over with a long time ago.”

In terms of firing Comey the president said “And in fact when I decided to just do it, I said to myself, I said ‘you know, this Russia thing with Trump and Russia is a made-up story, it’s an excuse by the Democrats for having lost an election that they should have won.”

So, yes President Trump is speaking about himself in the third person. Plus, his statement suggests that the Democrats should have won the election, but didn’t because…

As if this isn’t scary enough because Most Republican Party members in Congress are bobbling their heads and saying Russia is nothing, firing the Director of the FBI is within the rights of the president, blah, blah, blah nothing to see here, move along.

A tweet from former chief of staff of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) Mark Salter, “Words I thought I’d never say: the security of the United States might now depend on electing a Democratic Congress in 2018.”

Contrast this with the Republican Party media outlets:

Fox News stated that Director of the FBI James Comey resigns.

The New Republic stated, “Any cracks in Republican support of the Trump administration’s decision to oust Comey are significant. As long as the GOP stands with Trump, this will NOT spiral into a Watergate-like dying presidency.”

There needs to be a very significant and wide spread investigation of Treason!
