This is a great, albeit disturbing, story on so many levels.

Your humanity.

Your ability to care about someone who you don’t even know.

Your commitment to doing the right thing — even if you mucked up some of in as indicated in the responses already posted.

Your willingness to share it publicly so the rest of us can reflect on what WE might have done in a similar situation.

I wonder if it was a female doctor who did the same thing — what would have happened? Somehow I doubt it would have turned out the same way. So add “sexist” to the “racist” piece that you removed.
