How they hide the truth and what scientists can do about it

So, the IPCC’s ‘AR6 Final Synthesis Report’, the end-product of a 7-year reporting cycle from this UN body tasked with advising humanity on climate change — an accelerating, unprecedented, existential threat — has come and it has gone.

And there has been no meaningful response, anywhere. All world governments, from democracies to dictatorships, all corporations and institutions, private and public, remain committed to plans that will have no impact on the destructive trajectory that risks the survival of the human race. Greenhouse gas emissions are still rising. Understanding and debate has shifted still further from the immediate reductions in fossil fuel use inescapably needed.

This links directly to the take-home message of the AR6 report, summarised by the IPCC chair, Hoesung Lee; ‘there is still hope… the 1.5C limit is still achievable… we have the knowhow and the technology to tackle human-induced climate change.’
