The Impossible Becomes Possible With This Concept — The Dream Table

Ideas get thrown around but responses such as “wow, that would be amazing” are rare. They’re rare because we try to be reasonable and are used to the status quo.
But to really make a dent in the world for the better and do something truly great, responses such as, “that sounds good” or “that would be cool” may be a signal that the idea is not great enough. You want “oh sh*t, that would be amazing” moments.
To achieve an “oh sh*t” moment you have to eliminate roadblocks, negative energy and preconceived notions. You need to clear sh*t off the table and dream. You need to ask yourself, what would be ideal? Because these days, if your not aiming for ideal or true greatness, you don’t have a compelling enough mission or idea to succeed over the long haul. On a personal level, I do think the idea needs to help improve the world and not be something useless.
I use this methodology in my work and recently formalized it into a phrase I like to call “The Dream Table.” The Dream Table requires cleanliness, clarity, focus, positivity and passion. It requires a healthy dose and balance of both reasonability and un-reasonability.
I believe it was Larry Page who said “have a healthy disregard for the impossible.” I think that’s a fabulous quote that sums up the foundation of the Dream Table concept.
Next time your part of a brainstorming session, thinking about a project or idea for a business, aim for ideal — use the dream table. After all, the only limits there are, are the ones you set in your own mind.
