“Become like water my friend”

A few days ago I stumbled upon one of my favorite quotes by Bruce Lee, which is:

“You must be shapeless, formless, like water. When you pour water in a cup, it becomes the cup…Water can drip and it can crash. Become like water my friend.”

This quote got me thinking about how we can incorporate Mr. Bruce Lee’s words into our lives and here is the way I see it.

If you have a goal or something which you have set out to achieve, you will encounter certain individuals and be placed in a variety of situations which may alter your grand vision. By certain individuals I mean it could be someone which is either cheering you on and motivating you towards your goal or someone who criticizes you and wants to see you fail. If someone wants nothing more than to see you fail you have two options.

Option 1: You can either “drip” past that demotivating and negative person.

or

Option 2: You can “crash” through that person and show him/her that you’re going to make it no matter what.
