It is a story about a book being banned from publication. No matter what the book is about, no matter what color its cover is, a book is a book and banning it from publication is the first step before burning books on the main square of a village or whipping the author like in Saudi Arabia.

There is always a first step along that road that leads to some kind of totalitarianism, be it soft or hard or hot or cold, who cares. Censorship is censorship and anyone pretending to defend human rights and human freedom should protest vehemently.

Under Elizabeth 1st an author, Stubbs, wrote a book or pamphlet condemning the rumor that the Queen was going to marry some French noble from Anjou. He was condemned too . . . to have his right hand cut off on the public scaffold of shame with a butcher’s hatchet and a mallet.

Have you ever heard of Fahrenheit 451? CPAC and the Center are thought polices so they are right to celebrate that censorship, but no one, absolutely NO one who is neither a conservative nor a centrist meaning in-between alpha and omega, meaning nowhere should approve such Stalinist-ic-al methods.
